The principle of the MTC rod magnetostrictive displacement sensor is to generate a strain pulse signal when two different magnetic fields intersect, and then calculate the time period required for this signal to be detected, thereby converting the accurate position. One of the two magnetic fields comes from the permanent magnet in the magnetic ring, and the other comes from the excitation pulses generated by the electronic components in the sensor electronics compartment. The excitation pulse runs at the speed of sound along the waveguide filament made of magnetostrictive material in the sensor. When intersecting with the permanent magnetic field in the magnetic ring, the mechanical vibration generated by the waveguide filament forms a strain pulse due to the magnetostriction phenomenon. The strain pulse is quickly detected by the sensing circuit in the electronic warehouse. The pull-rod magnetostrictive displacement sensor is multiplied by the fixed speed of sound from the moment the excitation pulse is generated to when the strain pulse is detected, and we can accurately calculate the change in the position of the magnet. This process is continuous, so whenever the position of the magnetic ring changes, the new position will be measured quickly. Since the output signal is a real value, not a proportional signal or a signal that needs to be re-amplified, there is no signal drift or change in value, not to mention the need for regular re-calibration like other sensors.
The rod type structure is simple and convenient to install. The change of the magnetization direction of the measuring unit in the ferromagnetic substance will cause the change of the medium lattice spacing, which will cause the length and volume of the ferromagnetic substance to change, namely: magnetostriction phenomenon, also known as The Widman effect, and its inverse effect is called the Villari effect. The magnetostrictive sensor is non-contact and will never wear out. It has the advantages of high resolution, high precision, high stability, high reliability, fast response time and long working life. The sensor does not need to be re-calibrated and does not require regular maintenance.
