Refined cotton for nitrocellulose

Nitrocellulose is also called cotton collodion, nitrocellulose. It belongs to nitrate ester, white or yellowish cotton wool, soluble in acetone. It is the product of esterification of cellulose with nitric acid. Nitrocellulose is obtained by esterification of refined cotton with concentrated nitric acid and concentrated sulfuric acid.

Main uses of nitrocellulose

1. Nitrocellulose with high nitrogen content is used to produce smokeless gunpowder; Nitrocellulose with low nitrogen content is used to manufacture spray paint, artificial leather, film, plastic, etc.

2. It is used for making cultural and educational articles, daily necessities, instrument signs, etc.

3. Used for printing ink, leather, various nitrocellulose lacquers, rubber caps, wax paper for typing, etc.
