Cylinder block
The cylinder block is generally cast with gray cast iron. The cylindrical cavity at the upper part of the cylinder block is called the cylinder. The lower part is the crankcase supporting the crankshaft, and its inner cavity is the space for crankshaft movement. There are many stiffeners, cooling water jackets and lubricating oil passages cast in the cylinder body. The cylinder block shall have sufficient strength and stiffness, depending on the position of the installation plane of the cylinder block and the oil pan.
