The work roll plays a role in causing the elastic-plastic deformation of the strip during the straightening process. The intermediate roll is used to support the work roll. It is between the backup roll and the work roll, and requires complete linear contact with the backup roll and the intermediate roll. The work roll and intermediate roll should have strong surface hardness and core toughness, and higher dimensional and geometric tolerances are also required. The hardness of the work roll can reach Rockwell 64 degrees. In order to avoid mutual scratch of the work roll, intermediate roll and backup roll, the hardness of the backup roll, intermediate roll and work roll should be 2 degrees lower than that of the former.
